Hey, I just wanted to let you know that my blog has been move to just http://dirtwonthurt.com it is not linked to wordpress anymore.
My awesome husband is working on my new site. I’m working on linking all the current pictures to flickr and putting my blogroll and other links back together. That will make the page load quicker. We are going to get family pictures made so the top picture will change too.
I hope you like the new look! Thanks for your patience!

What was your child’s first word? Or if you do not have children, what would you assume a child’s first word would be? Most of you moms would roll your eyes and say his/her first word was “Da Da,” and then there are the few happy mothers out there who heard their name first.
Not my son. His first words were “Arf, Arf.” Yes, he rocked back and forth on all fours barking. There was no “Ma, Ma” no “Da, Da,” just a high pitch yelp.
With that stated, these pictures should not come as a surprise to you.

Wow, so much has gone on this weekend and I have so many pictures it’s hard to choose what I want to show! Friday and Saturday we had a great time with the boys up at Branson. Here are some of the highlights…
Jad definitely inherited mine and Jon’s genes for adrenaline rushes on amusement park rides. I can’t believe how many rides this boy rode! (I’ll put of the video of him on the giant swings later)
Every time it bounced Jad said *ri-bit, ri-bit*
The Butterfly was not as spacious as the Fog. I wish Jon would have rode this one!
Since Jonah only likes to be held, and Jadon walks too slow.
Jonah wanted Dad’s ice-cream!
This is Jon’s attempt to fix the shoulder straps on Jonah’s carrier with a POWER CABLE. He thought they needed to be closer for support, and he proceeded to tell me it looked normal. I told him to take a picture to show me “normal” Needless to say, I made him untie it.
What do you do for Mini-Vacations?

Jadon loves Guitar Hero World Tour. I know you are asking yourself how much can a two year old play? We just set it on freestyle and let his creative juices flow.

It wouldn’t be complete without his “Rock-face“

I was born the only girl in my family. The only sister to my only younger brother. I’m not complaining; I’ve had a blessed life. But it wasn’t until five years ago that I married into the Morris family, and now I have three sisters and a beautiful mother-in-law.
This weekend we left the guys and took a road trip to Northwest Arkansas. The shopping was fun, the food was good, but the time I spent with my “newer” family was priceless. I sat in the back of the Suburban, with baby Jonah, thinking of the stories about my friend’s that go out with their one (if that) sisters, but I have three beautiful, godly, fun women to share life with. That’s a rare thing and I am truly blessed.

We really resemble each other, don’t you think?

Here is the whole clan.
I hope you had a great Mother’s Day!

From Tuesday thru now I have dedicated myself to getting Jadon potty trained. ASAP. How’s it going? I’m glad you asked… (if you skip Day 3 you will be disappointed)
Day One – awesome. Started strong and Jad did not have a wet diaper all day. I even brought out the Pull Ups with Disney’s Cars. He was having so much fun pulling them up and down. And then, at nap time, he poo poo’d in them. I guess I saw that one coming, but on the bright side; he did not potty in his pull up.
Day Two we regressed. Jad will not use any form of a bigger potty, so he refused to go to the potty at his grandparents house and school. I guess this day was just rough all around because that night we had to be at church from 5 to 9. The good news is that Jadon began to tell me when he needed to go potty.
Day Three was eventful – to say the least. We were back on schedule to go potty, but with a few accidents. First thing in the morning he yelled “no” and threw a toy across the bathroom. In response, I sat his bare bottom to the corner. After that, He decided going potty was the better choice. He also became suddenly interested in the stool side of the potty, but at this particular time I had not yet cleaned it out. I’ll leave you to fill in the rest. Another particular time he sat down on the potty and pee pee’d straight up in the air and on me. Are you laughing yet?
Day Four looked similar to Day Two.
Day Five a MOUNTAIN was moved in my son’s life. With a little help from his dad, Jadon conquered the big boy potty. And in public. They were at Shorty Smalls and somehow Jon got him to go on the potty there, twice.
Anti-Potty of the Week:
“The sensor technology detects a deposit and triggers lights and sounds for fun and encouragement.”

Jadon’s birthday is in February and for the last year Jon and I have really wanted to get him a backyard climber. The problem is that in February it’s still cold and stores do not carry them. It’s a good thing Jadon is two and does not realize his parents did not give him anything (besides a lot of cake) on his birthday.
Well, May has arrived and so has his “playground.”

Two men reading instructions. Learn to cherish that

Trying out the slide
And here is the finished product! (The slides didn’t make it in the picture)
Complete with Jonah sitting on Jadon’s head and Hurley running thru the picture.
I hope y’all have a good weekend.

Today there was a break in Monsoon Season. Praise God! The sun actually peeked out from the dark clouds long enough for me to take a few pictures of my new “garden.” I planted it last week, and so far I am proud. (On a side note: I’m beginning to wonder why I didn’t try planting a rice paddy field in my backyard/swamp) Hopefully these little guys will survive.
Green thumbs run in my family, but I have always been scared to attempt to make something grow. I just want to assume I’m going to fail at this, but to my surprise they look healthier every day.
How many of us can apply that multiple areas in our lives? We have so many fears and uncertainties, but if we will just jump in and be willing, God will make some awesome things grow.
The top one plant is tomatoes, next green bell pepper, and jalapenos on the bottom.

These are the cucumbers. Do you see the first empty spot? Jadon was helping me garden, and just decided that the leaves didn’t need to be on anymore. I thought the plant might grow anyway. I guess he didn’t inherit my green thumb

The only real downside to this Monsoon Season is the grass/weeds in my backyard. You can see they are a little less than a foot tall. Some weeds are looking more like bushes. Hopefully this weekend will dry out!

So, I was informed Sunday that Jadon is showing interest in one of the girls in his 2 year old nursery class. As cute as you all think this is, sweet Zoey makes girlfriend #3. Yes, one for every “venue.”
#1 is the cute Kasey from school. She is loud, goofy, and from what I can tell, loves everything. He thanks Jesus for her every night in our prayer time. I mean every night.
#2 is the spitfire, Annasten, from Small Group and Play-dates. She is the younger of the three (at 18 months), but can definitely hold her own among all the other boys. She has put Jadon in his place many times, but they are too cute when they give goodbye hugs! (Jadon is a head taller)
this is Jadon and Annasten
#3 is quiet Zoey, and the first blonde Jadon has ever shown interest in. I do not know much about her yet, but her parents are sweet. She is the silent type, so far.
So with girlfriend number three, I wonder more and more what kind of girls my son will be interested in, one day when it matters. Before he was born I was already telling Jon which girls Jadon will never date. Isn’t that funny?

So tonight Jon and I had a great, much needed, date night. We went to Joe’s Pizza Pasta, which is one of those hole-in-the-wall awesome authentic restaurants.
We were in line to pay and this man was in front of us. He is a picture of a true older Arkansan. Sorry for the bad phone quality. He has the dress shirt with the nylon vest, jeans (with boots), the Arkansas ball cap and look at his ear closely…

Complete with a blue tooth head set! Who said older people are set in their ways?
